BIOGRAPHY
Heavily influenced by the bright, spacious synth sounds of the 80s, Veya (a.k.a. Ashley Vega) combines sincere lyrics, memorable hooks, and careful layering to put her own spin on modern synth-pop.
Veya was born and raised in northwest Florida and began singing, performing, and songwriting at a young age. Growing up listening to Coldplay and Imogen Heap, she fell in love with heartfelt melodies and rich layers. Veya’s eventual discovery of Lights and CHVRCHES sparked her fascination with synthesizers and gated reverb.
After taking a break from songwriting throughout her teenage years, Veya’s interest in songwriting was refreshed in college when she opened GarageBand for the first time. She began writing and producing her own songs as a creative outlet while quietly posting them on a SoundCloud account. In June of 2019, Veya publicly released her first single “My Love” and has released four more singles since, including “Strangers” (a collaboration with Kaiolyn).
